There was a time before we were born. If someone asks, that’s where I’ll be.

I started booking music in 2009 with my first show featuring Bawn in the Mash and Pokey LaFarge. It was a stretch in the venue that wasn’t built for live music, but adapting spaces had always interested me. Stretching beyond what seemed possible and experiencing great successes along with great failures.

Curating a live music experience is something I take very seriously, allowing a moment that benefits the musician and the viewer equally. Finding the perfect balance of the right moment in time, the right venue and the right audience comes with experience.  It also requires a gut and the willingness to produce an event with big name artists along with those trying to make a name and cultivate a following.

Over the past decade I have had the pleasure to work with so many different artists, bookers and the like.  In the beginning I wasn’t familiar with any of the lingo. I thought:

  1. I book the band.

  2. I unlock the venue.

  3. I supply some beer.

  4. They do the rest.

Many hiccups and several sound techs later, the need to bring in a permanent sound setup became a necessity. Through a Kickstarter campaign, backed by those that understood the need and supported by musicians who wanted a stellar place to play, the money was raised.

What started as a series no one believed would work, turned into a regional attraction.

To continue that trend I founded 11 YEAR ITCH and look forward to working with all the same folks as well as new ones.  There are so many amazing venues in Paducah, KY that are ripe for some non-traditional use. And as a location that is an easy stop for routing musicians, I feel confident there are some great shows to come.  Shows that will be talked about. Shows that will resonate in people’s minds and make those who didn’t attend regret it. Shows that will introduce patrons to new musicians and new venues.  Shows that will put Paducah on the map. Shows people will travel to attend. BADASS shows!!!

Thanks for reading my store and thanks for supporting one gal’s dream to bring some awesome entertainment to a community she loves.

Looking forward to it!!!

My Big Brother.

Without him there would be no me. He inspired me to follow those stupid dreams and to believe in my creativity.
